Regional Councils meet at least once a year, with every local eligible to send delegates to discuss and debate important issues in their regions such as provincial labour laws and policies, and regional economic and social concerns. Unifor has establish Regional Councils for British Columbia, the Prairies, Ontario and the Atlantic. Quebec will also have its own Council body. Each council has a chair, vice-chair and a secretary treasurer elected by delegates to the council. Each council also has several standing committees to address specific issues: Women, Aboriginal and Racialized Workers, Young Workers, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Workers (LGBT), Workers with Disabilities, Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) and Political Action.The councils are funded by a per capita share levy to each of the member locals.
