Dear Brothers and Sisters,   Feb.18,2021

Many of you are now aware of De Havilland’s communication to employees during yesterday’s town  hall and subsequent press release that there was not enough time left at the Downsview site for Dash 8 production to resume at this location. Understanding the lead time required to re-start the supply chain, yesterday’s announcement was not unexpected. Local 673 has been preparing for months for a potential production stoppage as we had to be prepared for this very real possibility.

Suffice it to say that the Union opposes with some of the information shared by De Havilland yesterday. Locals 673, 112 and the National Union have been in discussions in preparation for Collective Bargaining. Out of respect for the bargaining process, the Union will appropriately reserve it’s comments for the bargaining table.

I will send out a request for your bargaining proposals next week and predict the results will confirm job security as our primary bargaining priority.

We appreciate how troubling this news is to our Members. Please know that we are prepared to tackle this issue and are committed to bargaining a solution.

Q.How do I show proof of payment from CERB in order to apply for sub money if the only thing I have is a deposit into my personal bank account that can be only viewed by me no statements were issued from the government A. For Local 112 & Local 673 Employees It has been brought to our attention that a summary of CERB statements / payments is not available in an individual’s My Service Canada account. As an interim measure until the CERB statements are available, and in order for us to facilitate your SUB fund application, please provide a screen shot of your bank account that confirms the deposit has been made. Please be aware that this is personal information and therefore please black out your account number and balance if required, your full name and the CERB deposit amount is sufficient.
