Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As we look back on this past year, we reflect on all of the challenges we have faced. Since the ratification of our new CBA, we have continued to deal with the effects of covid, exited Downsview, started to grow roots at our new Explorer Drive home, gone through a major restructuring, battled with IFS, and fought for work from home to name a few. Any of these challenges would be significant for an established company yet we have over performed on all of these challenges as a new company in an environment that at times feels like there are more roadblocks than roads. Despite all this, our Membership has, as always, met these moments with professionalism, dedication, and grit always putting our Customers first and being the economic engine that De Havilland needs us to be. Thank You All!

As we enter the holidays, we must pause and refocus on ourselves and loved ones. The yearly “recharging of our batteries” over the holidays is crucial this year given the extraordinary effort you all gave to overcome the many challenges we faced. While many of you will be working over the break to support our Customers, please make time for a well-deserved and needed break to recharge.

I would to thank National President Lana Payne, Assistant to the National President Shane Wark, National Representative Barry Lines, Local President Mary Ellen McIlmoyle, Local Vice President Mike Norman, and Alternate Chairperson David Dias for their dedication and support this past year. Above all, I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our Membership. You continue to demonstrate the highest levels of dedication and performance through the toughest of challenges. Thank You!

On behalf of Unifor, I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all the best in the New Year! In Solidarity,

NUNO PINTO
